Ecclesiastes 12:6-7, "Remember your Creator before the silver cord is loosed, Or the golden bowl is broken, Or the pitcher shattered at the fountain, Or the wheel broken at the well. Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, And the spirit will return to God who gave it."
Here we see the writer of Ecclesiastes saying, "Remember your Creator before your life ends." Why did he say so? Because the Bible says that there is no hope after death. After a person’s death there is no hope for him/her because the Bible says in Isaiah 38:18-19, "For Sheol cannot thank You, Death cannot praise You; Those who go down to the pit cannot hope for Your truth. The living, the living man, he shall praise You, As I do this day; The father shall make known Your truth to the children." That’s why he says, "Remember your Creator before you die. Before your life’s cord may be loosed, before the body which is like a golden bowl is broken, before your life may be shattered, you must turn to God.
And he says further, "Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it." Many times people think that the moment they die it is the end of their life. Many think that there is no life after death. Many are sitting so calmly thinking that, "God will allow every one to heaven, because He is a loving God. He will not destroy His creation." Many people have no seriousness about after death. But the Bible clearly describes about heaven and hell.
The question is who will inherit the kingdom of heaven?
We read in Psalms 15:1-2, " LORD, who may abide in Your tabernacle? Who may dwell in Your holy hill? He who walks uprightly, And works righteousness, And speaks the truth in his heart." Here the psalmist says that those who walk uprightly and works righteousness, and speaks the truth in his heart will enter heaven. There is no entry for those who are in sin. But again comes a big question? Who is righteous in this world? "No one", no one can say that he/she leads a righteous life. No one can say that he/she is living a holy life. But the Bible says in, 1 John 2:29, "If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him." 1 John speaks of Christians as those "born" of God. It shows that the believer’s spiritual life results from the redemptive work of God. As a result, believers can legitimately be called God's "children" And once a person is born in God’s family God gives him/her a righteous life. He gives a total new life as the Bible says in, 2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."
Yes, if we want to go to heaven we must be born in to the family of God. We must get the new life. We must get the redemption from our sins before we leave this world or before our life ends. Otherwise there is no hope.
Nothing is impossible with God
By Sherly Isaac
Matthew 19:26, "But Jesus looked at them and said to them, "With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
Let us go in depth and see what God can do in our lives.
1. He has power to forgive sins:
We read in Matthew 9:6, "But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins"; then He said to the paralytic, "Arise, take up your bed, and go to your house." Yes, God has power to forgive your sins. No matter what your sins are, no matter how far you have gone in sin, He is able to forgive your sins. Bible says in Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." But Jesus came in to this world to save us from our sins. The Bible says in 1 John 1:7, "…. and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin."
And the Bible says in 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
2. He has power to heal the sick:
When we read the whole Bible we can see that He is a God who delights in healing. Exodus 15:26, says, "If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you." It is His quality to heal the sick and if we read in new testament there we can see how Jesus healed the sick. Not only did Jesus Himself heal the sick but also He gave power to heal the sick to His disciples as the Bible says in Matthew 10:1, "And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease."
Yes, He has power to heal the sick. No matter what your sickness is God can heal you.
3. He has power to heal the brokenhearted and deliver them from their boundages:
The Bible says in Isaiah 61:1, "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, Because the LORD has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound."
There is a particular brand of glue in market., about which it is said, "this glue can fix anything except the broken hearts." Yes, no man can fix your broken heart. No man can wipe away your tears which you shed in silence. No man can console you when your heart is broken. No man can give you peace and joy when your heart is broken but the Bible says in Psalms 51:17, "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart; These, O God, You will not despise." Yes, when your heart is broken, run into the arms of God and He will console you, He will comfort you, He will heal your broken heart.
Oh, He will fill you with the joy and peace that passes all understanding. Because He went through all our agony, He understands our sorrow. He understands what tear is. He understands what it is, going through pain and sickness. He went through all these but came out victorious. Yes, If Jesus is with you, He will help you to come out of all your problems, all your sickness, all your pain and all your sorrows victoriously. They will not harm you.
