Luke 15:4-7, "What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, 'Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!' I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance."

Jesus told this parable about the lost sheep. A man had hundred sheep but when he counted his sheep, he found that one was missing. He left all the ninety-nine sheep in the wilderness and went in search of the lost one. He did not think, "I have ninety-nine sheep and it does not matter if one is lost." But without wasting any time he goes back to search for the lost sheep. Jesus did the same thing. When He saw that we have lost the way and that we are heeding towards hell fire, He came down to save us. He came down to rescue us from hell fire. He did not think, "Millions of people are in this world and if one or two goes to hell, will it make any difference?" But He could not see even a single person going to hell. He left all His majesty, all His glory, all His richess and humbled Himself even unto the cruel death on the cross.

There was really no reason why He should come down, why He should give His precious life for mere human, but it was love that brought Him down. That was love that compelled Him to come down. Yes, He loves us so much that He gave His own life for me and for you so that we may never die but live forever and forever.

Jesus continues His parable and tells us that there would be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people. Yes, Jesus is waiting everyday expecting that His lost sheep will return to His fold. He is searching for everyone who is lost in the sins of this world, lost in darkness, lost in sicknesses and in other problems. He wants to pull you out from all your sins, from all your problems, from all your sicknesses and from all your darkness and wants to make you a blessed person. If you are still lost and thinking that there is no hope for you then look to Jesus, repent from your sins and turn to God. He will wash your sins and make you a new person. He will wipe away all your tears and give you a life full of peace, joy and happiness.

Will of God

By Sherly Isaac

What is the will of God? Very often people say, "If God willing…" but how can we possibly know the will of God? Can a person know the will of God? We read in the whole Bible that God spoke to every prophet of the Bible. They got words from God, they heard the voice of God, they talked to Him face to face and they knew that they were hearing the voice of God. How could they do that? Is it possible in this age? Is it possible that we can hear the voice of God and see Him face to face? Let us see what the Bible says about this?

We read in Old Testament that, "LORD spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend." Exodus 33:11

Whenever any problem came before Moses, he asked God, "what to do now?" And God told him what to do and not to do. God showed him everything even to the smallest detail how to do and what to do.

And also the Bible says in James 2:23, "And he was called the friend of God."

The Bible speaks about a God who is interested in us and wants to be our friend. He walked with Adam and Eve in the cool of the day but because of their sin they lost fellowship with God. They were separated from God. Today also, sin separates us from God because the sinful nature has been passed from generation to generation starting from Adam and Eve. That’s why whatever comes in our mind and heart is evil. Our prayers are not reaching God and also the answers from God are not coming back because of our sinful nature. If we want to hear the voice of God and if we want to know the will of God, we need to reconcile with God.

The Bible says in Hebrew 13:8, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." He is the God who changes not and His qualities also do not change. If He could speak yesterday, He can speak today also and He can speak tomorrow too. That’s why prophet Joel prophesied in Joel 2:28-29, "And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions. And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days."

And Jesus said to His disciples before He left this world, He said in (John 14:16-18), "And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever; the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you."

According to His promise He sent the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost when all His disciples and 120 people were praying. Mighty Holy Spirit came and filled them as we read in Acts 2:1-4, "When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance."

He did not leave us as orphans but what He promised, He fulfilled in His time and still today Holy Spirit is available for us. Why we need to be filled with the Holy Spirit? Not only to know the will of God but also to walk before Him worthy because the Bible says in Acts 1:8, "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."

When a person is filled with the Holy Spirit, he/she gets the mighty power from heaven to proclaim the word of God. They receive direction from almighty God as Moses, Abraham, Noah and other Bible persons received from almighty God. The same Holy Spirit who gave them word, the same Holy Spirit who gave them direction in their every step of their lives is available now also. Why not you and me? Yes, we also can have this experience by the mighty power of the Holy Spirit.

How can we get this experience in our lives?

1.Reconcile with God:

Peter says in Acts 2:38, "Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."

First thing is that we should get the forgiveness of our sins by repenting from our sins and accepting Jesus in our lives. Once we are saved from our sins then we are eligible to receive the filling of the Holy Spirit.

2. Ask God to fill you with His Holy Spirit:

The Bible says in Luke 11:12-13, "Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!"

So when we ask God to fill us with the Holy Spirit, He fills us with His mighty power and authority.

If you are saved but have not yet received the anointing of the Holy Spirit then ask God and He will fill you with His mighty power and authority. Then you will be able to talk to Him, walk with Him and be a friend of God.

May God bless you!
