Matthew 4:4, But He answered and said, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.'"
God’s word has life:
Word of God has life and the Bible says, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God." How can a person live by the word of God that proceeds from the mouth of God? We are made up of three parts i.e. body, soul and mind. Our body needs food and without food we can not survive. In the same way, we need spiritual food for our soul and the spiritual food is the word of God. If you have not read the word of God, then you are a dead person. If you are not reading the word of God regularly then you are not giving proper nutrition to your soul and it would never be healthy. Your soul need proper nutrition and regular intake of spiritual food. That’s why the Bible says, "you will live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God."
If you want to be alive and well, you must read the word of God every day. Psalmist says in Psalms 1:2-3, "But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper."
God’s word helps us to live a holy life:
Psalms 119:9-11, "How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word. With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments! Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You!"
The more you meditate and memorize the word of God, you will be able to avoid wrongful and sinful ways. You will be able to defeat the plan of the devil as Jesus did when He was tempted by the devil. Jesus used the word of God and devil could not do any harm. When you use the word of God, devil and his army will flee away from you.
God’s words bring consolation and peace:
Psalms 119:76, "Let, I pray, Your merciful kindness be for my comfort, According to Your word to Your servant."
Psalms 119:165, "Great peace have those who love Your law, And nothing causes them to stumble."
Yes, these are the words which give comfort, consolation and peace at times of trouble, at times of problems and at times of tears. If you read the word of God every day, it will flash like neon-sign before you when you go through difficult situations and will give you peace.
Bridegroom is coming, are you ready!

Matthew 25:6, "And at midnight a cry was heard: 'Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!"
Once, I happened to read the Jewish custom of marriage. According to that, a man who wants to marry a girl signs a marriage contract. After confirming that this is the girl he is going to marry, he goes back to his father’s house to prepare a place to live after the marriage. Father is also excited and he helps his son to prepare the room. When the place is ready and when the father finds that every thing is OK, then he announces the marriage of his son. Till that time the son does not know when his marriage will take place. As soon as the father announces the marriage day, the son, his friends and relatives go to the girl’s home. Now in the girls house, she sits at the window of her house and waits for the bridegroom night after night expecting him to come and take her to his home. When the bridegroom comes, she listens to the cry and comes out of her chamber to meet him.
When I read about this custom I was really surprised because this is the exact replica of the coming back of Jesus Christ and taking His bride which is the Church, to His home.
Signing the marriage contract:
Son of God came down to this world and shed His precious blood on the cross and by doing this, He signed the marriage contract with His own blood that, ‘He loves every human on the face of this earth.’ He has betrothed us and promised us that one day He will come back and take us home; but are we ready to meet Him? Are we preparing to meet Him? Are your garments washed by the blood of Jesus so that you may be holy and pleasing to Him?
Preparing a place for us:
Yes, marriage contract is signed and the Son went to prepare the place for His marriage. Jesus said in John 14:2-3, "In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again gotoand receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
Yes, Jesus went to prepare a place for us and as soon as the place is ready, Father will announce the marriage of the Lamb. And as soon as the Father will announce the marriage of the Son, Son will come to take us home.
Who will be in the Lamb’s Marriage:
Those who are washed by the blood of Jesus and walking in His holy ways as we read in Revelation 19:7-9, "Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready." And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. Then he said to me, "Write: 'Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!' " And he said to me, "These are the true sayings of God."
Yes, my friend, Jesus is coming soon to take His bride, are you ready to meet Him? If not this is the time to prepare. Invite Him in your heart and make Him your Lord and Savior so that you may not be left behind.
