On 18th June we are going to celebrate father’s day. Let us quickly see two persons from the Bible. One tried to marry without the will of God and his life became miserable but the other married according to the will of God and his life was a blessed life.

Judges 14:1, "Now Samson went down to Timnah, and saw a woman in Timnah of the daughters of the Philistines."
Judges 14:2, "So he went up and told his father and mother, saying, "I have seen a woman in Timnah of the daughters of the Philistines; now therefore, get her for me as a wife."

Samson was separated for God’s work from his birth but when he looked at a philistine girl he fell in love with her. He might have thought, "I am a big man of God, after marriage I will train her to be a godly woman and every thing will be OK after marriage." But he forgot to ask the will of God. In India if a boy has some problem may be he is mentally ill or having some bad habits, people say that as soon as he gets married every thing will turn out to be all right. Yes, many think like this that, once they are married every thing will be OK. No, it will never happen that way. You can not change a person nor can you change his/her mind. And Samson - a mighty man of God failed in this area of his life. And later we see that he went to a harlot and it resulted in the total destruction of his life and finally God left him.

God has a purpose for every person but if you will not allow Him to work in your lives you will one day destroy yourself. I have seen many people who had worked for God very enthusiastically but failed to chose a partner according to the will of God and their lives become a hell on this earth. Yes, it is not easy to live with a person who is not agreeing with you. But if you ask God He can provide a person who is of your choice.

Now look at the life of Isaac. Isaac was also a man of God and the Bible tells us about his marriage. Abraham told his servant to go to Mesopotamia, to the city of Nahor and to bring a bride for Isaac. Now the servant was praying all the way so that God might give him success and show kindness to his master. And God listened to his prayers and showed him Rebekah.(Genesis 24) . And listen to the answer of Laban and Bethuel in Genesis 24:50-51, "Then Laban and Bethuel answered and said, "The thing comes from the LORD; we cannot speak to you either bad or good. Here is Rebekah before you; take her and go, and let her be your master's son's wife, as the LORD has spoken."

And the Bible says that it was a blessed marriage as we read in Genesis 24:67, "Then Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah's tent; and he took Rebekah and she became his wife, and he loved her. So Isaac was comforted after his mother's death."

Yes, God wants to give you a happy and blessed married life. If you are a married person and is always having problem in your family then repent and invite Jesus in your family. He will change every thing. If you are not yet married then ask God for His guidance and He will guide you and give a blessed married life.

My love and respect to my dad on this father’s day and all the fathers of this world. I wish you all a very happy and blessed father’s day. May God help you to build godly homes.

I can do all things through Christ

By Vinod Isaac

Paul says in Phil 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Many times we hear the phrase "I can't do" or "it's an impossible task" Paul says "I can do all thing through Christ who strengthens me" In other words Nothing will be impossible when Christ is the source of strength. And we all know that Paul accomplished something others could not. Where ever he went he established churches. Where ever he went miracles after miracles happened. It was possible only because Paul never lost his focus, that strength comes from the Lord.

Many times we try to do things in our own strength and we fail. I have seen many people saying "It all depends on our will power not to sin" and the very same people can not overcome sins in their life. They cannot live a holy life. Reason is simple they tried to do everything on their own strength and they never realized that they do not have power to do that. There is only one who can break the bondage of sin. There is only one who can set a person free. His name is Jesus. Acts 4:12 "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." Yes my friend the strength to overcome sin comes from the Lord Jesus Christ.

Paul on his way to Damascus encountered the transforming power of Jesus Christ. His life took a 180 degree turn. The one who was persecuting the Christians himself started following Jesus. He saw mighty deliverance from the hands of Jesus. Here we see the power of God flowing two fold. On the one side people in Damascus are very much afraid that Saul (Paul) is coming to destroy them. They might have been praying hard. They might have put their confidence in God. We know from Acts 9:13,14 that these people already knew that Saul (Paul) was coming to destroy. But the God who answers prayers was standing on the way to meet Paul. Can you imagine when the people in Damascus heard that the one who was coming to destroy them is now himself preaching the gospel what they would have done. Oh, they might have sang praises to God. They might have danced with Joy rejoicing and saying, "the God we serve is a mighty God." And on other hand Saul getting converted to Paul recalls that day as a wonderful and glorious day. Paul can never forget in his life what God had done in his life.

And seeing all that had happened in his life Paul knew very well that Christ strengthens him and with that strength he can do all things. Nothing will be impossible for him. He can live in life's most troublesome situations and still be joyful. He can go through the darkest times of his life but still can rejoice because the Lord who gives him strength helps him out of all his troubles.

Are you being burdened with loads of care? Are you being troubled with sickness? Are you saying that you cannot come out of your sins? Are you saying that you cannot live a victorious life? Look to Jesus He is able to help you out. He can wipe away all your problems. He can wipe away all your tears. He can heal your sickness. He can heal your broken heart. He can repair any situation you may be facing. Just tell him your problems, your sins, you troubles and ask him to help you out. He will gladly do it for you.

May God Bless you.

God is Our Father

By Sherly Isaac

Fathers have a great role in families. A family without father is a miserable thing, but today we see many single parent families. The Bible dose not support this type of family idea nor does the Bible encourage taking divorce. What can a father do in a family?

1. Discipline:

A father brings discipline in his family. I remember when I was a small child. My father used to come in home from office at 5:30 PM after that there was pin drop silence. He never spoke loudly nor scolded but only his presence make all the difference. I do not remember if I ever missed a Sunday school class or any Church service. Some times I felt very bad why I should go to Church every Sunday, but my father always said, "no matter what may happen you have to go to church every Sunday." When I look back I am thankful to God that He gave me this type of parents who raised me in the ways of God. It built a godly foundation in my life and one day we all found God in our lives.

Yes, A home is that where there is father’s discipline, strictness and mother’s love and care. My dear friend, many of you may have no father in your family because of divorce or some other reason but let me tell you the most exciting thing. If you invite Jesus in your life, He will come into your life and will give you authority to become children of God. You will be born in the family of God as the Bible says in John 1:12-13, "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."

Is it not wonderful that God will be our father when we invite Him in our lives? Oh, yes, give your heart to Jesus and you will never be the same again.

2. He provides for his family:

A father provides for his family and in the same way God provides His people who became His children as we read in Psalms 23:1-2, "The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters."

You may be lacking many things in your life but if you have accepted Jesus in your life as your personal Lord and Savior then you need not to worry for anything because God is your father and He will provide whatever you need. He will satisfy your soul with all the riches and heavenly blessings.

Psalms 103:13-14, "As a father pities his children, So the LORD pities those who fear Him. For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust."

3. He guides his family:

A father leads his family and makes plan for the future that what to do and what not to do. In the same way God leads and guides those who are His children. Psalmist says in Psalms 23:3, "He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake." When you will go astray from His ways He will use His rod and staff to bring you back into the right track. When Israelites came out from Egypt and were in the wilderness God led them all through the forty years and they did not lack anything in their lives. Deuteronomy 29:5-6, "And I have led you forty years in the wilderness. Your clothes have not worn out on you, and your sandals have not worn out on your feet. You have not eaten bread, nor have you drunk wine or similar drink, that you may know that I am the LORD your God."

Yes, when God will lead you in your ways, you will never lack any good things in your life.
