Paul is a name that shook the whole world and scholars say that Paul is the greatest pillar of Christianity. If you can shake Paul’s teachings and doctrines then you can shake Christianity. Let us see what type of man he was.
We read in Acts 7:58 that Stephen was cast out of the city and was stoned to death. And the witnesses laid down their clothes at the feet of a young man named Saul. Yes, Saul was a man who was keeping the cloths of murderers. Not only was he so much enthusiastic to persecute and kill the people who followed Jesus, as the Bible says in Acts 8:3, he made havoc of the church, entering every house, and dragging off men and women, and committing them to prison.
He was a man who caused havoc in the churches and among Christians. He was a man of terror and the Bible says in Acts 9:1-2, "Then Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest and asked letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem."
You may be living a life that is not only a burden for your family members but also for your neighbors and for your community. People might have said about you that no one can change you, no one can see any good thing in your life. You may be rejected by your society and you may be an outcast. But look at the life of Saul when God touched his life, his life was totally changed. As we read in Acts 9:3-5, "As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?" And he said, "Who are You, Lord?" Then the Lord said, "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads."
When Jesus appeared to Paul it was a turning point in his life. Yes, when Jesus comes into the life of a person it becomes a turning point of his/her life. Jesus comes in and changes everything no matter how bad your life may be, no matter how bad the things you have done, no matter how big sins you might have committed in your life. But Jesus can change every thing. He can give you a new life as He did in the life of Paul. My dear young friend, are you in tears and in pain because of your bad habits? Because people have looked always badly at you and thought you are a useless fellow? Look to Jesus and repent from your sins and invite Jesus into your life. Jesus will gladly come and change your life.
After meeting Jesus, Paul’s life changed totally. He became a humble servant of God. A man who was a havoc for the people became a totally different person. Not only did God change his life but He exalted him before others. He became a mighty man of God. Yes, Jesus can do the same thing for you.
